THE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN (2017)

“THE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN” (2017)

Public Image Ltd. (PiL) was the group that John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) formed after The Sex Pistols disbanded in 1978, after a decisive trip to Jamaica. More than a rock band, PiL is a corporation that has been experimenting with music and its representation in the media for more than 30 years, full of artistic and personal ups and downs. “THE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN” is the portrait of the beginning of post-punk in England, composed of an immense film archive material and the memory of those who lived it. John Lydon and the numerous ex-members of PiL open their hearts to remember, insult and reflect on his three decades of career.
