K-X-P

K-X-P / FI

K-X-P was first called K-N-P, standing for the last names Kaukolampi, Nykänen and Puranen, three friends and musicians based in Helsinki, Finland. Soon the N standing for Anssi Nykänen became an X, marking mystery revolving spot for drummer. In 2010 they released their first record, and their second full-length “K-X-P II”, written in Berlin, came in 2013. The band recorded in converted cinemas and traditional studios, surrounding themselves with vintage equipment, analogue electronics and step sequencers. K-X-P’s hypnotically pounding live shows tend to be improvisational and very loud: high energy level and pure honesty. Their music mixes electronics, kraut, noise, rock and even rockabilly into a hypnotic and minimalistic motorik groove with references to bands like Spacemen 3, This Heat, 23 Skiddo, Suicide or Neu! The band themselves name Raymond Scott, Moondog & Martin Rev as inspirations.
